Trends in Low-Power, Digitally Assisted A/D Conversion
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper discusses recent trends in the area of lowpower, high-performance A/D conversion. We examine survey data collected over the past twelve years to show that the conversion energy of ADCs has halved every two years, while the speed-resolution product has doubled approximately only every four years. A closer inspection on the impact of technology scaling, and developments in ADC design are then presented to explain the observed trends. Finally, we review opportunities in digitally assisted design for the most popular converter architectures. key words: A/D conversion, digital calibration, digitally assisted design, technology scaling

Digitally assisted equalization of third-order intermodulation products in wideband direct conversion receivers
An effective linearization technique capable of equalizing IM3 products resulting from an arbitrary out-of-band blocking scenario in a wideband direct conversion receiver is presented. IM3 products are regenerated in the RF analog domain of a low-power mixed-signal feedforward path and are used to cancel analogous signal terms in the original receiver at digital baseband via adaptive equalizati...
متن کاملControl over Power Conversion Efficiency of BHJ Solar Cells: Learn more from Less, with Artificial Intelligence
Harvesting the energy from the sun through the bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells need materials with specific electronic characteristics. However, any promising material if cast improperly in cells will end into low or even null power conversion efficiency (PCE). Cell casting optimization is a time/material consumable step in any photovoltaic manufacturing practice. In this study, we sh...
متن کاملDigitally Excited Reconfigurable Linear Antenna Array Using Swarm Optimization Algorithms
This paper describes the synthesis of digitally excited pencil/flat top dual beams simultaneously in a linear antenna array constructed of isotropic elements. The objective is to generate a pencil/flat top beam pair using the excitations generated by the evolutionary algorithms. Both the beams share common variable discrete amplitude excitations and differ in variable discrete phase excitations...
